Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, INC. is actively seeking a Safety Specialist in the Columbia, SC area. The role focuses on on-site hazard mitigation, regulatory compliance, and safety program leadership, collaborating with frontline employees and site supervision.

The position includes coordinating with site safety leads, conducting trainings, and mentoring Safety Techs on project sites. A strong background in OSHA standards and NCCER/BCSP credentials is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior craft or site safety experience is preferred (3–5 years).
• OSHA 30/510/500 or willingness to obtain after 5 years of safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote values and culture through daily interactions.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify safety hazards.
• Monitor safety performance and provide feedback to teams.
• Review site JHAs for accuracy and hazard controls.
• Ensure PPE usage and conduct safety inspections.
• Conduct and document safety training and maintain records.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Manage safety activities on assigned jobsites with guidance from BU safety leadership.
