Qualifications

• Experience in safety, preferably in a sawmill, lumber, or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience working directly with production employees on the plant floor.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard identification, and incident response.
• Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and communicate corrective actions effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site safety oversight during the second-shift production operation.
• Monitor the work environment to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
• Respond to workplace incidents, injuries, and safety concerns as they arise.
• Support employees and supervisors in maintaining safe work practices and following established safety procedures.
• Conduct safety observations and help identify opportunities to prevent workplace injuries.
• Reinforce compliance with applicable safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Communicate safety concerns and corrective actions to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining a safe working environment during the equipment upgrade.
