Job summary

Marous Brothers Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Ohio State University project. You will be the on-site champion for safety, actively walking the site, identifying hazards, and ensuring crews follow safety standards.

You will update SSSPs and JHAs, lead risk assessments, and conduct safety orientations and toolbox talks to foster a strong safety culture across multiple trades. Strong communication and root-cause analysis are essential.

Qualifications

• Must understand OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and state regulations.
• Ability to develop, implement, and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP).
• Experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) and risk assessments.
• Proven ability to perform routine safety inspections and audits.
• Experience leading safety orientations and toolbox talks.

Responsibilities

• Walk the jobsite daily to spot hazards and guide crews.
• Update and execute SSSPs, JHAs, and risk assessments.
• Coach teams on high-risk activities (fall protection, trenching, crane work).
• Lead safety orientations and toolbox talks to build a safety culture.
• Perform root-cause analyses and track corrective actions for incidents.
