Job summary

The incumbent will manage pre-certifications, engage with patients and families, and provide education on healthcare resources.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health or related field required.
• One or more years’ experience in mental/behavioral health preferred.
• Licensure as applicable (RN, LCSW, LPC or similar) per state requirements.
• Experience with managed care pre-certification, level of care assessments, and utilization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates intake, admission, and prior authorization for incoming patients.
• Performs insurance benefit verifications and communicates findings to patients and staff.
• Provides coverage for call center duties and processes admission requests during high volume.
• Completes pre-admission assessments and communicates recommendations to patients or families.
• Collaborates with medical and psychiatric staff to ensure appropriate admissions and levels of care.
• Maintains documentation for admissions and coordination of care.
