Job summary

RTX is seeking a Repair Design Engineer (RDE) for the Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering Military Repair Group. The role develops repairs for military engines, including repair concepts, approvals, and coordination with end users.

The candidate will own multiple concurrent projects, organize testing, support shop floor needs, coordinate approvals, and mentor newer engineers while liaising with IPTs and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or Master’s degree with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Gas Turbine components, operation, design, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a multi-discipline team to establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet OEM quality standards.
• Research operating environments and functionality of components and develop repair strategies.
• Create technical documents with engineering requirements for repairs.
• Interface with technical and program management to secure priorities and understand programmatic issues.
• Support the Customer in resolving field supportability issues.
• Ensure repair tasks and shop floor requests are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Assist and mentor less experienced engineers and lead audits of repair vendors.
