Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an Outside Referral Coordinator for a large Healthcare client in Renton, Washington ( onsite ). The role centers on handling outside medical referrals, managing high-volume calls, and ensuring accurate intake into the EPIC Tapestry UM system.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years in a related role, strong communication skills, and experience with EPIC, FINESSE/CISCO, and referral management systems. Knowledge of CPT/ICD-9/10 coding is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three years of related experience.
• Experience with EPIC, FINESSE/CISCO and referral management systems.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 coding.
• Professional communication and phone etiquette for positive member experiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct prior authorization intake by phone and enter details in EPIC Tapestry UM system.
• Review and communicate prior authorization status with callers.
• Apply guidelines to support administrative prior authorization workflows and documentation requirements.
• Verify patient eligibility, coverage, benefits and provider status for compliance.
• Manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
