Job summary

Pero Family Farms in Hanover, PA is seeking a QA/QC Technician to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations while upholding food safety standards.

You will inspect product, perform CCP testing, maintain documentation, and support HACCP programs. This is a full-time onsite role with growth opportunities across our organic and conventional operations.

Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and HACCP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Food quality inspection experience required; produce experience preferred.
• Good communication skills in English; able to document procedures.
• Computer skills including MS Office.
• HACCP certification or training completed.
• Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions independently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound/outbound product
• Take temperatures and cultures of product
• Document inspections and data as needed
• Perform tasks related to quality and food safety
• Ensure products are safe and meet quality standards and comply with food regulations
• Monitor organic handling practices
• Conduct HACCP testing
• Operate pumps and sanitation systems; wash testing
• Sample pulling for shelf life and microbiological tests
• Pre-operational sanitation testing (ATP)
• Monitor metal detection units
• Packaging and seal testing
• Calibrations on scales, thermometers, and testing tools
• GMP monitoring
• Color code enforcement; organics, allergens
• Hold and release / Rework programs
• Shelf-life evaluation and sensory testing
• Paperwork filing
• Work with cleaning chemicals
• Other duties as required
