Job summary

Hoffman Construction is seeking a QA/QC Field Engineer (Mechanical) to join the on-site Quality Department for a Boise-area project. You will support lifecycle quality activities, coordinate with site leadership, review documents during preconstruction and construction, and drive issue closure across multiple scopes in a mission-critical environment.

Reporting to the High-Tech Program Quality Manager, you will collaborate with design professionals, clients, and trades to ensure installations

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ construction QA/QC experience.
• Proven experience as structural engineer, erector, or inspector.
• Concrete pre-install/inspection experience preferred.
• Site or architectural installation/inspection experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of field management software (BIM360 Field, Procore, Latista).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor of science in civil/mechanical/electrical/structural engineering, construction mgmt or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate inspectors, trade contractors, and personnel.
• Perform onsite inspections in assigned scopes (electrical, mechanical, utilities, civil/architectural/structural, commissioning).
• Attend QA/QC and Quality Team meetings with detailed input.
• Ensure trade contractors follow QA/QC Plans and project documents.
• Inspect Owner Furnished Equipment offsite and onsite.
• Interpret and implement installations per codes, permits, and site specs.
• Communicate clearly verbally, in writing, and electronically.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
