Job summary

Hoffman Construction seeks a QA/QC Field Engineer (Mechanical) to join the on-site Quality Department near Boise, Idaho. You will support daily quality control activities, review documents in preconstruction and construction, and help bring issues to closure with cross-functional teams.

Reporting to the High-Tech Program Quality Manager, you will inspect scopes across electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines, coordinate with trades, and ensure compliance with codes, project documents, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of construction QA/QC experience.
• Experience as structural engineer, erector, and/or inspection.
• Concrete pre-install/inspection experience preferred.
• Site and architectural installation/inspection experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of field management software (BIM360 Field, Procore, Latista).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor of science in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering, construction management or equivalent degree and/or equivalent craft level work experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate inspectors, trade contractors, and associated personnel.
• Perform onsite inspections in assigned scope (electrical, mechanical, utilities, civil/architectural/structural, commissioning, etc.)
• Attend and provide details for QA/QC Meeting and Quality Team Meeting
• Ensure all trade contractors are following their approved QA/QC Plans
• Ensure all trade contractors are installing work in accordance with project documents, applicable codes and standards, and best work practices.
• Perform offsite and onsite inspections of Owner Furnished Equipment
• Must be able to interpret and implement proper installations in compliance with all local authority permitting, codes, and site specifications.
• Provide clear communication, verbally, written, and electronically.
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
