Ferguson is seeking an onsite Purchasing Agent to support our industrial MRO customer at the Rutland, VT branch. You’ll order and manage inventory, focusing on vendor-direct products, and collaborate with the customer to resolve questions and issues.

3+ years of purchasing experience preferred; Bachelor's degree or equivalent. This role offers on-site work with growth opportunities and a strong emphasis on customer service and team mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 3+ years purchasing experience, ideally in regional/multiple stores
• Adapt processes to evolving business needs
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
• Process oriented with good judgment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365

Responsibilities

• Work on site at the customer's facility
• Prepare purchase orders by compiling and maintaining information
• Contact vendors for quotations and manage key relationships
• Maintain product pricing files and vendor information
• Adjust buy quantities to meet inventory/service goals
• Address purchasing questions/issues with the customer
• Mentor less experienced team members
• Uphold safety standards and policies
• Deliver high levels of customer service to internal customers
