Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Technician, Pump to service a variety of pumping equipment at customer sites and branches across the region. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on diesel, electric, submersible, and centrifugal pumps with emphasis on safety and uptime.

Travel to locations for emergency repairs, installation, and training of customers on proper use and maintenance is required; a valid license and ability to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical cert preferred.
• 2+ years as a mechanic, preferably in pump systems or heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license; CDL if required; ability to travel regionally.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and minor electrical issues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel, electric, submersible and centrifugal pumps at sites.
• Travel to job locations for emergency repairs and installations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Document work and parts used; report further service needs.
• Communicate repair status and timelines to customers and branches.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe order; ensure safety compliance.
• Train users on proper pump operation and daily maintenance as needed.
