Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care in North Carolina is seeking a Public Safety Specialist to provide a welcoming, professional, safety-focused presence at hospital access points and within the Public Safety Communications Center.

This per diem, onsite role requires a high school diploma, strong customer service skills, calm under pressure, basic computer abilities, and the ability to learn and operate communications, access control, cameras, and reporting systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service, healthcare, communications, dispatch, public safety support, hospitality, or related field preferred.
• Ability to communicate with patients, visitors, staff, and emergency personnel.
• Calm demeanor and clear communication in stressful situations.
• Basic computer and technology skills.
• Ability to learn and operate communications, weapons detection, access control, cameras, and reporting systems.
• Complete required departmental orientation and training.
