Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Per Diem Public Safety Officer to provide 24-hour electronic and physical observation across the hospital campus. You will help maintain a secure environment while delivering courteous service to patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, responding to incidents, and coordinating with hospital personnel on a day-to-day basis. This onsite role requires strong communication and reliability in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years' experience in security, civilian/military law enforcement or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina Driver License required.
• BLET preferred but not required.
• Ability to type, answer phones, interview people, file information.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour electronic and physical observation of the hospital campus.
• Promote a secure working environment and customer service with patients, visitors, staff.
• Ensure hospital safety policies are followed daily.

• Ensures that all hospital safety and security, policies and procedures are conformed with on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications

• High school or Equivalent
• Three years' experience in security, civilian/military law enforcement or an equivalent military career field.
• Valid North Carolina Driver License required.
• Basic Law Enforcement Training Certification (BLET) preferred, but not required.
• Officers are expected to possess a minimal proficiency in typing text, answering telephones and interviewing people. In addition, they must be able to file information and accomplish various administrative tasks.
