Job summary

Hensel Phelps seeks a Project Engineer to oversee on-site project administration and manage office engineers and the jobsite administrator. You will handle project financials, scheduling, and coordination with owners, suppliers, and trade partners to resolve issues and ensure project goals are met.

The role requires a four-year degree in a related field, 2–4 years of large commercial construction experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum 2–4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects; valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills; proficiency in project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents with monthly owner pay applications.
• Resolve interface conflicts with trade partners and stakeholders.
• Interpret drawings, specs, RFIs, and questions from architect/engineer.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap with project team.
• Process and estimate potential change orders and RFIs.
• Assist in development and management of project schedule.
• Track and report project progress; support safety and quality initiatives.
