Job summary

Tri-State Energy (TSE) is seeking an Assistant NJ Project Manager to support Senior Project Managers on commercial and industrial HVAC and lighting projects. This onsite role requires excellent communication, data management, documentation, and collaboration with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects on track.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in project coordination, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and an understanding of energy efficiency and safety

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in project coordination or project management.
• Strong client relationship skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently or within a team.
• Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Interest and experience in energy conservation and engineering a plus.
• Understanding of job safety requirements.
• OSHA 10/30 Construction Certificate preferred (or required within 90 days of hire).
• Bachelor's degree, professional license, or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective communication between the Senior Project Manager, clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Collect, organize, and enter mechanical and lighting data into internal tools.
• Assist in project documentation and closeout.
• Perform site inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Issue purchase orders and assist with change orders.
• Create and maintain detailed project schedules and milestones.
• Resolve minor issues and escalate major problems.
• Assist in researching and procuring new contractors.
