Job summary

Tri-State Energy (TSE) is seeking a Junior Construction Manager in New Brunswick, NJ to support Senior Project Managers on commercial and industrial HVAC and lighting projects. This onsite role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to manage coordination with contractors and clients to keep projects on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in project coordination or construction management, a foundation in HVAC knowledge, OSHA credentials, and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in project coordination or construction management.
• Strong client relationship skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently or within a team environment.
• Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Interest and experience in energy conservation and engineering a plus.
• Understanding of job safety requirements.
• OSHA 10/30 Construction Certificate preferred (or required within 90 days of hire).
• Manage multiple commercial and industrial projects concurrently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Bachelor's degree, professional license, or equivalent experience is required.
• Basic ability to read mechanical, HVAC, lighting layout, or electrical schematics/drawings is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, project management software, etc.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communications between the Senior Project Manager, clients, subcontractors, and TSE team.
• Enter mechanical and lighting data into program software and internal tools.
• Manage project documentation and closeout documents.
• Perform site inspections to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Issue purchase orders and manage change orders.
• Create and maintain detailed project timelines.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate major problems.
• Assist in researching and procuring new contractors.
• Monitor compliance with utility program requirements.
• Prepare and track incentive applications.
• Data entry and analysis in project tracking systems.
• Auditing support and reporting for audits.
• Coordinate with utility reps and staff to resolve issues.
