Job summary

RTX’s Collins Aerospace Rome site seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations on onsite shifts, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and staff engagement. You will lead machinists and production staff, coordinate with maintenance, engineering and quality, monitor schedules and drive continuous improvement through Lean, 5S and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• University degree required or advanced degree with relevant field and experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, or 3+ years with advanced degree.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, equipment, tooling, and measurement practices.
• Experience with Lean, 5S, or other CI methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Lead, coach, and develop machinists and operators, promoting accountability and engagement.
• Maintain safe work practices and enforce EHS regulations and company policies.
• Monitor production schedules, staffing levels, and machine utilization for efficiency.
• Support problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for issues.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues.
• Track and report shift performance metrics (throughput, scrap, downtime, labor).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing activities.
• Manage timekeeping, attendance, performance reviews, and personnel issues.
