Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Production Planner Scheduler to develop and manage production schedules that align with customer commitments, capacity, and material availability. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, inventory management, or MRP within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and experience working with SAP or a similar enterprise planning system.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally to identify problems, make decisions, and drive issues to resolution.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US permanently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, forecasted demand, plant capacity, material availability, and manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate material requirements and procurement timing to ensure raw materials and components are available to support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory, work-in-progress (WIP), production progress, and capacity, identifying risks and taking action to prevent delays.
• Manage planning activities for complex and custom orders, partnering with Project Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and other functions to coordinate custom builds, materials, software, and manufactured units.
• Identify and resolve production constraints, scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and other issues impacting quality, delivery, or production performance.
• Maintain planning data, production parameters, and reports within SAP or other business systems, ensuring information is accurate and actionable.
• Analyze manufacturing processes, workflow, equipment utilization, and capacity to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Lead cross-functional problem solving and communicate priorities, risks, and solutions effectively with management, production employees, engineers, procurement, vendors, and other stakeholders.
