Job Title: Production Scheduler

Assignment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $70,000–$80,000

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., onsite. Occasional Saturday work may be required.

The Production Scheduler will create and manage manufacturing schedules to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time. This individual will partner with Sales, production, drafting, and leadership to coordinate work orders and align production needs with available labor, materials, and equipment. The role will also identify scheduling gaps, monitor progress, and communicate potential delays or operational concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on order priorities, capacity, and delivery deadlines
  • Partner with Sales to review incoming orders and confirm realistic completion dates
  • Schedule work orders and assign projects across welding and fabrication operations
  • Update visual scheduling tools to provide departments with clear production visibility
  • Prepare and release job packets containing the information needed by production employees
  • Distribute project files to support the development of shop drawings
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and other resources to maintain an efficient workflow
  • Track production progress and revise schedules when priorities, capacity, or deadlines change
  • Identify labor, material, or process constraints and communicate recommended solutions to leadership
  • Maintain accurate production, scheduling, and inventory information within company systems
  • Provide internal teams with timely updates regarding order status, delays, and potential issues
  • Collaborate across departments to support safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous production scheduling or coordination experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage work orders and balance multiple production priorities
  • Experience with an ERP, MRP, or similar production-planning system
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to anticipate scheduling conflicts and communicate concerns proactively
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, manufacturing, business, or a related field preferred
  • Three to five years of production scheduling or fabrication-support experience preferred
  • NetSuite ERP experience preferred
