Job summary

UCSF Medical Center seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to serve as the public face of the practice, coordinating new patient scheduling, referrals, and pre-appointment activities onsite at UCSF campuses. The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex scheduling and billing support using APeX/Cadence.

You will work closely with clinical teams and physicians to verify insurance, collect information, and prepare patients for their first visit,

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with four years related experience; or college degree and 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple patient records systems.
• Experience with EPIC systems and scheduling workflows is preferred.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the administrative team as the public face of the Practice.
• Support scheduling, referrals, and billing workflows.
• Coordinate new patient scheduling and pre-appointment logistics.
• Verify insurance and collect referral/authorization information.
• Collaborate with clinical and management teams to ensure smooth operations.
