Job summary

System One in Wheatfield, IN is seeking a Commissioning Manager for a simple cycle peaker project. The onsite contract role will direct commissioning activities, oversee equipment testing and system integration, and coordinate handover of power plant assets.

You will lead a team of technicians, collaborate with engineering and operations, develop protocols, monitor performance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout commissioning.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of experience in power projects, with significant experience in combined cycle plants and simple cycle peaker projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized and self-directed with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of commissioning technicians, coordinating commissioning activities on mechanical and electrical equipment such as turbines, boilers, pumps, generators, and related power plant apparatus.
• Drive the commissioning process, overseeing testing, troubleshooting, and integration to ensure smooth plant startup and handover.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineering, operations and safety to plan and execute commissioning on schedule and to quality standards.
• Develop, implement, and enforce commissioning protocols and procedures to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and implement CTO packages and monitor equipment performance during commissioning for optimizations.
• Maintain detailed records of activities, performance, and compliance metrics for reporting and continuous improvement.
