Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a seasoned Commissioning Manager to lead field commissioning across diverse power generation assets in the southeastern United States. You will direct teams, oversee equipment testing, and coordinate handover to operations, ensuring safety and compliance.

You will travel across sites as needed, manage project timelines, and collaborate with engineering, safety, and operations groups to drive reliable plant startups and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years of commissioning experience in power generation with leadership history.
• Experience with turbines, boilers, pumps, and related equipment.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning methodologies, testing, and integration.
• Familiarity with power plant electrical operations, safety, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of commissioning engineers and technicians across greenfield, brownfield, and operational commissioning activities.
• Drive the commissioning process, oversee testing, troubleshooting, and integration for smooth startups.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety to plan and execute commissioning within timelines and quality standards.
• Develop and enforce commissioning protocols and procedures for safe, effective work environments.
• Monitor equipment performance during commissioning and recommend optimizations for operational excellence.
• Maintain detailed records of activities, system integrations, and compliance metrics for reporting.
• Provide technical leadership and support to teams and stakeholders to foster excellence and learning.
• Ensure work aligns with drawings, specs and contractual requirements, flagging variances.
• Track progress and report key activity developments in daily reports.
• Support project stakeholders by communicating early and often when problems arise and finding creative solutions.
