Job summary

Boutique Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Plant Operator to support a landfill gas-to-electricity facility in Smithfield, NC. You will operate engine-generator equipment, monitor plant systems, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to alarms.

The role is 100% onsite with an every-other-week on-call rotation, including weekends. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of hands-on experience with engines or similar mechanical systems and are comfortable working outdoors in changing weather.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hands-on experience with engines, generators, or similar mechanical equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plant operations.
• Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions and within tight engine enclosures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a single-engine facility that converts landfill gas into electricity.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on engines and plant equipment.
• Inspect equipment and complete necessary repairs or replacements.
• Maintain wellfield and record operating data accurately.
