Job summary

Archaea Energy is seeking a Plant Operator/Technician for the Johnston Land Fill Gas to Electric Plant in Smithfield, NC. You will operate and maintain a reciprocating engine in a landfill gas power plant, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications include 1–5 years of engine gen set experience up to 1500 kW, ability to read manuals, troubleshoot, and use Word/Excel/PLC tools. A valid driver's license and a high school diploma are required. On-site work with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–5 years of operation and maintenance experience with engine generators up to 1500 kW.
• Able to read manuals, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and email systems; able to work with PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility inspections, maintenance, and repairs of plant equipment.
• Monitor and adjust plant system controls to improve performance and prevent failures.
• Respond to alarms and follow startup/shutdown procedures under supervision.
• Maintain regulatory reporting and daily/weekly/monthly logs.
• Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Coordinate activities with clients and other facilities; complete required trainings.
