Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Pipe Welding Instructor for onsite support at the Philadelphia Focus Factory. A background in welding, instruction, and safety oversight is required to lead classroom and hands-on training, evaluate student performance, and coordinate with site leadership.

The role includes standard first shift hours with possible overtime and travel, a requirement to maintain NDT qualifications and to adapt to evolving training strategies and technologies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4+ years of welding trade experience.
• 2+ years of work experience at Electric Boat.
• Instructing/teaching experience (formal or informal).
• Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS …ETC).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Instruct multiple welding related classroom courses including Workmanship, AWPSS and Safety Briefs.
• Instruct multiple pipe related classroom courses.
• Provide quality oversight of supplier embedded instructors.
• Direct and assess hands on training with practice and tests.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations in training and deck plate audits.
• Assess student performance and identify non-conformance to policies, procedures and technical documents.
• Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork.
• Grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture.
