Job summary

Focus Factory Training (D794) seeks an organized, self-motivated Pipe Welding Instructor for long-term travel to support strategic sourcing at various Focus Factory locations. You will train supplier staff in welding processes, oversee embedded instructors, and conduct hands-on sessions with testing, while upholding safety standards.

The role requires 4+ years welding experience, teaching ability, and a mindset for continuous development, with frequent travel to sites across the U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years welding trade experience.
• 2+ years of work experience at Electric Boat.
• Instructing/teaching experience (formal or informal).
• Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS etc).

Responsibilities

• Instruct multiple welding courses including Workmanship, AWPSS and Safety Briefs.
• Instruct multiple structural related classroom courses.
• Provide quality oversight of supplier embedded instructors to support site training needs.
• Direct and assess hands on training with practice and tests.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits.
• Assess student performance & identifying non-conformance to policies, procedures and technical documents.
• Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork.
• Meet with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as needed.
• Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics.
