Job summary

Actalent in Austin/Hutto, TX is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist for a contract role onsite. You will perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, and ensure proper handling and transport of samples according to protocols.

This urgent opening requires 2+ years of phlebotomy experience in a lab or hospital, plus pediatric and geriatric expertise. Phlebotomy certification is preferred. Salary ranges from $21.82 to $22.24 per hour with standard benefits for eligible temporary staff.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as Phlebotomist in lab or hospital.
• Pediatric and geriatric experience required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
