Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist for a full-time, 40-hour position at a client site in Madison Heights, MI. You will perform phlebotomy, obtain proper physician orders, label specimens, and ensure accurate record-keeping while maintaining patient safety and high service standards.

The role requires Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm, with emphasis on teamwork, excellent patient communication, and strict adherence to lab procedures and policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or 1+ year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age related standards.
• Provides appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care.
• Labels and processes specimens according to established protocols.
• Reviews refrigerator temperatures and QC/QA records, reporting findings as needed.
• Maintains documentation and communicates results to client office staff.
• Adheres to safety standards and collaborates with team across departments.
