Job summary

MNP, LLC, a Fontana Gruppo Company, is seeking a Payroll Assistant to support payroll operations onsite in Michigan. The role covers processing payrolls weekly and biweekly for both hourly and salaried staff, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, team-focused, and eager to learn. Education required is AS or BS in HR or business, with at least 1 year payroll experience and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• AS or BS in HR or business
• 1 year of payroll experience
• Experience in creating positive written communications
• Experience working in a team
• Knowledge of payroll laws
• Excellent computer skills especially with Excel, Word, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Process payroll weekly and biweekly for hourly and salaried staff
• Reconcile timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies with supervisors
• Enter and maintain new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes
• Maintain accurate leave balances (vacation, sick time) per policy
• Process benefit deductions, 401(k) contributions, and garnishments
• Prepare year-end tax paperwork including W-2s
• Respond to employee questions about pay and deductions
• Verify employment and unemployment claims documentation
• Safeguard sensitive employee information and ensure wage/hour compliance
• Support other HR functions and cross-train colleagues
• Demonstrate company values in daily work
