Job summary

Firstsource Healthcare is seeking a Patient Financial Advocate to screen patients on-site at medical facilities in Council Bluffs, IA, assisting with eligibility for state, county, and federal programs. The role requires face-to-face outreach, documentation in hospital systems, and coordination with patient advocates.

The position offers onsite work with standard hospital hours and the potential for involving field visits, while ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with contract

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience in medical coding, medical billing, eligibility or related medical experience preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred; basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs.
• Initiate the application process bedside when possible and document results.
• Maintain on-site records and update hospital systems with patient screening data.
• Perform on-site or ER screenings and outreach to ensure program enrollment.
• Collaborate with the Patient Advocate Specialist for follow-up with patients.
