Job summary

Firstsource Solutions is seeking a Patient Financial Advocate to work at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. The role focuses on screening patients for eligibility programs on-site, including bedside or in the ER, and initiating enrollment where feasible.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in medical coding, medical billing, eligibility (hospital or government) or related medical experience preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Able to explain complex financial information clearly to patients.
• Commitment to patient service and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs (bedside or ER).
• Initiate enrollment applications for appropriate assistance programs.
• Document screening results in the hospital system and internal tools.
• Record patient information on the designated screening sheet and tracking tools.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information securely.
• Cultivate positive relationships with hospital staff and management.
• Fulfill any other duties as assigned by the client contract.
