CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an onsite Medical Assistant to prep patients before visits, perform basic health checks, and clearly explain next steps. You will also manage intake and documentation to keep clinicians focused on medical decision-making.

Responsibilities include intake, allergy/med verification, EMR inbox routing for test results and follow-ups, and ensuring patients understand next steps through loop-back communication to support safe, efficient care.

Qualifications

• HIPAA & Safety policies – protects privacy and follows safety requirements.
• Infection prevention and OSHA – infection control and safety standards.
• Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Intake & Clinical Rooming: vitals, medication/allergy verification, patient history, screenings.
• Inbox & Worklist Management in the EMR for messages, labs, and med-adherence follow-ups; aim for same-day touch.
• Education & Loop-Back: ensure patients understand next steps by having them repeat back instructions.
