Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
• CRCR certification within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)

Responsibilities

• The Patient Access Representative performs admitting duties for all hospital patients in alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
• Assigns accurate MRNs, completes medical necessity/compliance checks, collects insurance information, processes physician orders, and uses an overlay tool while delivering excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
• Operates the telephone switchboard and maintains high levels of compassion and service in inter-office communications; meets point-of-service goals.
• Uses quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts and provide data to leadership.
• Pre-registers patient accounts and collects demographic, insurance, and financial information, including payment plan options.
• Explains general consent forms and distributes patient education documents.
• Reviews insurance eligibility responses, selects the applicable plan code, and supports POS and billing processes to aid clean claim rates.
• Screening medical necessity using ABN software to inform Medicare patients of possible non-payment and distributes necessary forms.
