Job summary

Gillette Children's is seeking a Patient Access Specialist at the Phalen Clinic in St. Paul, MN. This full-time, on-site role (1.0 FTE) runs Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:30pm, with training 8:00am-4:30pm for 4-6 weeks. You will handle check-in, data collection and appointment scheduling to ensure a smooth visit.

The position requires a High School diploma and customer service experience; advanced degrees are preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Knowledge of insurance basics and ability to verify coverage.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families, checks in, and updates demographic and insurance data.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility; collects required signatures.
• Schedules appointments for all medical specialties promptly and accurately.
• Guides patients to on-site amenities and assists with clinic navigation.
• Promotes the MyGillette patient portal and appointment reminders.
