Job summary

US Eye is seeking a Patient Access Center Representative to join the newly formed Patient Access (Call Center) team. You will be the first point of contact, assessing patient needs, scheduling appointments, and assisting with inquiries from the public by phone.

The role requires a calm, professional demeanor in a high-volume environment. The successful candidate will have customer service experience, be tech‑savvy with Office Suite, and follow HIPAA requirements to protect patient privacy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus customer service experience.
  • Tech‑savvy and able to learn software applications as required.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Answers and triages incoming calls in a courteous, professional manner to ensure high patient satisfaction.
  • Responds to appointment requests via phone, email, and digital channels.
  • Manages the phone queue, maintaining timely service and accurate scheduling per templates.
  • Schedules appointments accurately according to practice protocols and assists with scheduling for referring physicians.
  • Collects patient demographics, clinical data, and insurance information for entry into the practice system.
  • Learns medical scheduling protocols and maintains HIPAA-compliant handling of information.
  • Meets productivity and patient care standards, providing a high-quality patient experience.
  • Collaborates with practice staff to provide accurate information and strong patient support.
