Job summary

Adventist Health Columbia Gorge in The Dalles, OR is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Representative for the Day Shift in a part-time regular role. The position requires strong customer service and a basic understanding of insurance eligibility to ensure proper scheduling and registration.

You will schedule and coordinate appointments, verify demographics and insurance, obtain authorizations as needed, and support clinicians and staff with access needs while delivering compassionate service

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required.
• Associate’s/Technical degree in business or related field preferred.
• One year customer service experience, preferably in healthcare or service-oriented environment required.
• One year experience in Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, physician office, healthcare insurance, or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, confirms, and modifies appointments based on patient needs and departmental guidelines.
• Obtains and updates demographic, insurance, and financial information to ensure accurate registration.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and authorization requirements; ensures proper patient identification and MRN assignment.
• Provides excellent service to patients, providers, and internal departments.
• Handles patient and provider messages and supports scheduling and access needs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
