Qualifications

• Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration is preferred.
• 3 years of experience in Patient Access in a business office setting.
• Experience with insurance eligibility systems.
• 3 years of utilization of medical terminology on the job.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding and medical terminology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CPT and ICD coding and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of insurance and managed care payors, Medicare Secondary Payor, EMTALA and ABN.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits.
• Collect accurate demographic and insurance information and patient liability at service time.
• Complete financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts.
• Greet patients professionally to promote positive encounters and ensure compliance.
