Job summary

Gilbane Development is seeking an Assistant Owner's Representative - Resident & Construction Liaison to support NYCHA RAD/PACT projects across occupied NYC developments. The role emphasizes resident coordination, on-site field oversight, and documenting conditions to improve safety, access, and responsiveness.

Based on-site, you will bridge residents, property management, and the GC, track action items, and escalate issues as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in construction, property management, affordable housing operations, or owner's rep support.
• Exposure to occupied renovation environments; NYCHA or affordable housing experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to de-escalate with residents and site teams.
• Procore experience or similar construction management platforms.
• Bilingual capability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site walks to observe progress versus plan and day-to-day conditions.
• Document safety, quality, and logistics concerns; escalate priority issues.
• Track and verify contractor corrective actions and close-the-loop follow-up.
• Coordinate unit access plans with GC and property management for in-unit work.
• Coordinate with GC field teams on upcoming work areas and resident-impact activities.
• Assist with resident access coordination and pre-/post-work documentation.
