Job summary

Eastern Research Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced occupational safety and health (OSH) manager to support a broad range of defense facility projects in Indian Head, MD. The role is full-time and onsite, requiring a DoD Secret clearance and U.S.

citizenship. Responsibilities include compliance reviews, health surveillance coordination, inspections, incident investigations, and safety program development.

Qualifications

• Direct experience interpreting and applying local, state, and federal OSH standards, including EM385 1-1 and DoD requirements.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in OSH, industrial safety, construction safety, or related discipline.
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements and safety practices for lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, MEWPs, and respiratory programs.
• Experience conducting workplace inspections, JHAs, risk assessments, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating safety management systems to ensure compliance and reduce hazards.
• Ability to identify safety risks, recommend mitigations, and communicate findings.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal OSH standards on broad projects.
• Manage and track employee occupational health requirements (examinations, evaluations, testing, surveillance).
• Prepare and review standard operating procedures.
• Perform OSH inspections of industrial, lab, construction, and admin spaces.
• Close out recommendations and hazard abatement actions per 29 CFR 1960.
• Track open actions using databases, spreadsheets, SharePoint, or Power Platform.
• Interact with program managers, federal clients, and stakeholders.
• Provide training and serve as a competent person for OSH topics.
• Document mishap and incident investigations.
