Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Technical Support Specialist II in Ophthalmology to provide advanced on-site IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. You will troubleshoot software, networking, and telecom systems while ensuring compliance with security standards.

The role requires flexibility to work outside regular hours. Responsibilities include incident resolution, preventative maintenance, asset lifecycle management, and liaison

Qualifications

• Works under minimal supervision to provide routine technical assistance to UT Southwestern faculty and staff.
• Supports desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, peripherals, software, networking and telecom systems.
• Must comply with UT Southwestern Information Security standards.

Responsibilities

• Supports the full end-user computing experience including hardware/software and peripherals.
• Diagnose and repair routine and complex end-user problems independently or via escalation.
• Perform preventative maintenance of end-user devices and peripherals.
• Lifecycle management of end-user devices including deployment and decommissioning.
• After-hours staff may work Service Desk duties as needed.
• Advise customers on technology needs and provide costs and quotes.
• Liaise between customers and Information Resources, partner organizations, or vendors.
