Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is seeking a Registered Nurse to triage oncology patients onsite in Sarasota, FL. You will provide clinical guidance by phone and in person, manage symptom control, and coordinate with physicians, PAs, and the care team to prevent readmissions.

Oncology experience and an active RN license are required; BLS is also needed. This role requires strong communication and the ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN licensure (multistate or Florida) required or as applicable
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred
• OCN certification preferred ( Oncology Certified Nurse)
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Triage oncology patient calls following policies and guidelines
• Monitor and manage patient symptoms
• Support high-risk, complex patient care
• Assess barriers to care and connect patients/families with resources
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment and side effects
• Assist clinicians with patient interactions and documentation
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team to prevent delays
• Document results and communicate findings to team
• Adhere to Florida State Board of Nursing rules and infusion floor coverage as needed
• Maintain professional boundaries and work within roles
