Job summary

Hyliion is seeking a Metrology Engineer to own dimensional measurement across internal operations and suppliers. You will lead metrology lab programs, calibration, and gage control, partnering with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure measurement integrity and AS9102 First Article compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in precision metrology, GD&T expertise, and experience with CMM software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, Polyworks). Travel and relocation assistance are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical/engineering field or related technical discipline.
• Five+ years of hands-on dimensional metrology in precision manufacturing.
• Experience with supplier assessment, source inspection, and corrective action.
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 or NADCAP is preferred.
• ASQ CQE/CCT/CMI and NIST/A2LA training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier metrology and source inspection programs end-to-end.
• Design & validate inspection fixtures and datum schemes.
• Own metrology equipment roadmap, calibration, and gage control.
• Perform Gage R&R, bias, linearity, stability studies.
• Apply SPC/Cp/Cpk and Cg/Cg to improve process yields.
• Collaborate with Design/Engineering to ensure Measurability by Design.
