Job summary

Hoffman Construction Company in Childress, TX is seeking an MEP Project Engineer to join the Construction Department. You will report to the Project Superintendent and MEP Project Manager, working with design professionals, clients, and subcontractors to solve complex coordination issues in a fully onsite role.

This position requires a minimum of three years of commercial building experience and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of commercial building experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Education background in materials and methods of construction.
• Familiar with CSI specification system for construction.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with design professionals, clients and subs.

Responsibilities

• Interface between area managers and subs to resolve field coordination items.
• Lead meetings with managers, design team, subs, and client representatives.
• Interpret design, construction documents, and quantify materials for construction.
• Coordinate all MEP elements within the overall project design.
• Organize and facilitate training of the client's personnel in MEP operations.
• Review submittals and coordinate between submittals for accuracy and functionality.
• Generate, receive, and distribute RFIs.
• Distribute change documents issued by team members.
• Field survey layout of control lines and benchmarks.
• Serve as onsite technical advisor in the field construction office.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP systems within the project design.
