Job summary

Hoffman Construction seeks a Project Engineer to join the Construction Department in Seattle, WA. The role reports to the Project Superintendent and Project Manager, coordinating with design professionals, clients, and subcontractors on site to resolve complex field coordination issues.

You will interpret drawings, manage RFIs and submittals, coordinate CSA elements, and train client personnel while supporting integration of architectural, structural, and MEP systems with schedule flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent.
• Experience with construction document reading and CSI specs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run meetings involving area managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Interface between area managers and multiple subcontractors to assist with resolution of field coordination items.
• Interpret design, construction documents, technical manuals, and quantifying materials required for construction.
• Coordinate all civil, architectural, and structural (CSA) elements within the overall project design.
• Organize and facilitate training of client personnel in CSA operations and maintenance.
• Review and process submittal information and coordinate between submittals for accuracy and functionality.
• Generate, receive, and distribute RFIs.
• Receive and distribute change documents.
• Field survey layout of control lines and benchmarks.
• Serve as the onsite technical advisor.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP systems within the project design.
