Aston Carter in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Medical Receptionist for a contract-to-hire role with weekly pay. The position is onsite and involves 40 hours per week, starting at $21/hour with potential increase after probation.

You will greet patients, manage appointments, verify insurance, collect payments, and maintain EMR with confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Qualifications include a high school diploma, medical office or customer service experience, knowledge of medical terminology and EMR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service environment preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and EMR systems is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
• Verify insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Collect copayments, payments, and update patient records.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient information in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Assist with patient registration, intake forms, and documentation.
• Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff.
• Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes and emails.
• Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and record maintenance.
