Qualifications

• Fluent, strong verbal communication in source/target languages.
• Extensive knowledge of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• HIPAA Training for Business Associates (within last year).
• Evidence of language proficiency via medical assessments (LangStat, Reach Diversity, Language Testing Int'l).
• Accredited medical interpreting training (40-hour courses).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective on-site interpreting for LEP patients.
• Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and preparedness for shifts.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and platforms.
• Pass screening before taking in-person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics and procedural requirements.
• Respect LEP clients, culture, dialect, and medical procedures.
• Demonstrate customer service orientation and interpreting passion.
