Peak View Behavioral Health in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Billing Specialist to be on-site. You will manage insurance and self-pay reimbursements, billing, collections, and reporting to maximize hospital cash flow.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2+ years in a business office with Accounts Receivable experience. Knowledge of general office procedures and electronic billing is required; an Associate's degree in accounting/finance is preferred.

• Two or more years of business office experience and Accounts Receivable required, preferably in medical/psychiatric setting.
• Knowledge of general office procedures and electronic billing required.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures audited billing records align with clinical records before billing.
• Manages accounts receivable balances to ensure timely and accurate billing and payments.
• Documents and communicates billing released to third party payers.
• Follows up on outstanding balances to ensure prompt payment within terms.
• Conducts account audits using AR, Billed Open, and Unbilled Reports to ensure billing efficiency.
• Generates secondary claims and rebills; verifies accuracy of claims and transfers to payers.
• Reviews Rebill/Denial Log daily and processes EOB/ERA rejections.
• Performs timely processing of refund requests.
• Data entry of charges, payments, adjustments, and other transactions for charges incurred.
• Records and balances AR and miscellaneous cash; prepares bank deposits and posts to patient records.
• Retrieves and performs electronic billing to insurance companies timely.
• Makes follow-up calls to insurance companies and guarantors.
