Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant to support clinical and non-clinical patient services onsite at 325 Cambridge Street. The role involves taking vital signs, preparing rooms, and coordinating with physicians to ensure smooth patient flow.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, BLS and CMA preferred, and 0–1 year of direct MA or medical field experience. Strong communication and EHR skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• No degree substitution accepted.
• BLS certification and CMA credentials preferred.
• 0–1 year direct MA or medical field experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.
• Proficient with EHR systems and medical office software.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare equipment for healthcare providers.
• Record patients' medical history and vital statistics in medical records.
• Perform general office duties; answer phones, take dictation, and process insurance forms; liaise with departments.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens and prepare for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms and keep them stocked and clean.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
