Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, MA is seeking a Per Diem Patient Services Assistant to support clinical and non-clinical patient care under the direction of healthcare providers. This onsite role requires a high school diploma, strong interpersonal skills, and experience with electronic health record systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Direct MA or medical field experience 0–1 year preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical office software.

Responsabilités

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. Acts as a liaison with other departments and advocates for patients with a positive customer service approach.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
