Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Medical Assistant I to support clinical and clerical tasks in a fast-paced outpatient setting in Southbridge, MA. The MA I will take vital signs, assist providers, and perform routine procedures to ensure smooth patient flow.

Under licensed clinician direction, duties include patient preparation, injections as needed, and coordination of room setup and equipment maintenance. This is an on-site, part-time role with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS/HS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health, within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and Point of Care tests per office standards.
• Prepare and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical exams and clinical procedures.
• Review labs and communicate abnormal results to clinicians.
• Set up rooms and maintain/clean patient equipment.
